Mission and Goals
The Mission of the UMMC Dietetic Internship is to provide focused, high-quality educational experiences to prospective dietitians, endowing entry-level knowledge and skills to support patients and the larger community for improvement and maintenance of nutrition status.
- To provide an environment that will combine didactic instruction with supervised clinical, community and food service experiences to prepare interns for entry-level positions.
- To train RDs who will contribute to the profession by their attainment of advanced certifications, degrees, and scholarly activities.
Rotations, classes and other learning experiences are designed to meet the Accreditation Standards for Dietetic Internship Programs established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
