A little about myself. . .
Born in Los Angeles, CA, my family and I moved to Silver Spring, MD when I was six years old. I went to Duke University for college where I majored in Psychology and how to be a true Blue Devil-I bleed blue! I attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University- it was in medical school where my interest for serving minority populations and underserved communities blossomed into a definitive career path. While in medical school I was as a member of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and served as the National Vice-President. I am also a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Go primary care!
The University of Maryland pediatrics residency program wonderfully integrates great clinical training, community engagement and an awesome social network. The faculty and administration are immensely supportive and the residents are incredibly friendly! I know that I will receive the best training to become a general pediatrician and be a health care leader in the community.
I have wanted to be a physician since I was four years old and I am truly blessed to have achieved my dream. I am excited to be back in my home state to embark on this new journey in my medical career.
