Joint Transitional Year with the UMMC Midtown Transitional Year Program

• Emergency Medicine

• Surgery
• Ambulatory Care
• Elective (2 months)

PGY-2 Year

• 12-weeks - Oculoplastics/Neuro-ophthalmology
• 12-weeks - Inpatient consults (two 6 weeks blocks)
• 12-weeks - University of Maryland Midtown Hospital Eye Clinic (two, 6-week blocks)
• 12-weeks - rotating through the University Eye Care Faculty Practice
• Wilmer Current Concepts (December)
• Maryland Society of Eye Physicians & Surgeons (MSEPS) annual Meeting (May)

PGY-3 Year

• 12-weeks - Glaucoma
• 12-weeks - Pediatrics/Uveitis
• 12-weeks - Baltimore VA Medical Center (primary cataract surgeon experience)
• 12-weeks - University of Maryland Midtown Hospital Eye Clinic (primary cataract surgeon experience)
• Wills Eye Board Review Course ( 5-days, Philadelphia)
• Alcon Cataract Course (Boston)

PGY-4 Year

• 12-weeks - Retina
• 12-weeks - Cornea
• 24-weeks - Baltimore VA Medical Center (Two, 12-week blocks)
• American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) meeting (Fall)
• Alcon National Resident Course (Texas)
