Wayne and Michelle Hubbard
Wayne knew he would need a transplant since he was diagnosed with PKD in his early 20s. Dialysis, the only alternative, would affect his life too negatively to be a viable option. When his kidneys started failing, his wife Michelle knew she had to help. She could not donate to Wayne because they have different blood types, but learned they could enter the Paired Kidney Exchange Program together. She donated a kidney to someone out of state, and Wayne received a kidney from another out of state donor.
