UM/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program

Application Process

The University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program is a participant in both the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Residency Matching Program. We abide by the results of the Match.

Each year, we have six or seven PGY-2 positions available and welcome applicants for PGY-2 positions.

Applications for PGY-1 residency positions will be accepted only through ERAS. We encourage applicants for PGY- 2, 3, 4 positions to apply through ERAS. However, we will accept paper applications.

Please make sure the following information is included with your ERAS application:

Due to the high volume of applications, we, unfortunately, cannot personally acknowledge receipt of applications. However, faculty review all applications received.

Personal interviews will be granted on a competitive basis. Interviews are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, starting in October and running through February. The interview day begins at 8 AM and ends at approximately 4:30 PM. We will contact you by e-mail or phone if we would like you to come for an interview. Please make sure to include your e-mail address and a daytime phone. If your e-mail address changes, please make sure you notify us. You should also change your e-mail address on your ERAS application.
