The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore welcomes applications for our three-year comprehensive fellowship program.
Applicants must be Board eligible in Internal Medicine prior to starting the Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care. This usually requires that the applicant is either currently enrolled in and will have completed a 3-year residency, or has already completed a three year residency in an approved training program in Internal Medicine in the United States prior to fellowship. Applicants training in programs that are not associated with a major University program in the United States are rarely accepted. Applicants with competitive credentials are invited for interviews at the program.
We welcome applications from all qualified individuals irrespective of gender, racial or ethnic background, religious affiliation or marital status. All positions will be offered through the National Residency Match Program. The program currently offers 4 positions each year.
We exclusively use the Electronic Residency Application Service, or ERAS, which is sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (www.aamc.org/eras). Applications are generally accepted through ERAS beginning in December of the year that the the applicant is applying (19 months prior to anticipated start of fellowship training). All positions are offered exclusively through the National Residency Matching Program.
To submit applications through ERAS, applicants must contact the ERAS Fellowship Documents Office and request an electronic token, which is then used for access to the ERAS application site. The following materials must be submitted through ERAS:
