PGY-5: $48,658
PGY-6: $50,188
PGY-7: $52,012
Vacation: 3 weeks of paid leave per year
Moonlighting: Moonlighting to supplement income is permitted if it does not conflict with fellowship training responsibilities, or cause the fellow to exceed the maximum recommended number of work hours per week (80).
Health and Dental Insurance: UMMS offers six health insurance options with three HMO's, three opt-out plans and a health insurance rebate program. All plans offer a co-payment prescription plan. Dental benefits are provided with three levels of coverage, including a preferred dental network and an out-of-network system. UMMS and the fellow share the cost of both health and dental insurance.
Sick Leave: Full salary is paid for 29 days for injury or sickness.
Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance: Fellows receive 100% of their salary for short term disability from 30 to 90 days, then 60% of their salary from 91-180 days. Long-term disability then pays 60% of the salary beginning on the 90th day. Both plans are fully paid for by UMMS. Additional disability insurance is available at reduced group rates.
Maternity or Paternity Leave: Although not a separate leave category, female fellows may use a combination of sick leave, vacation time and disability leave to permit six weeks of post-partum leave. A male fellow may use annual leave to help care for his family.
Life Insurance: UMMS pays the premiums to provide a life insurance benefit equal to 100% of the fellow's base salary. The fellow may purchase additional coverage for him/herself, spouse or dependent children.
Tax-Sheltered Annuity Program: Various plans are available to the fellow for long-term savings of tax-deferred monies up to 20 percent of the salary with the choice of four investment companies.
Automobile and Homeowner's Insurance: Coverage may be purchased by the fellow with the benefit of low group rates.
