Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP): Preventative Antibiotics Discontinued Within 24 Hours After Surgery End Time

After 24 hours following surgery, patients usually do not have to continue taking preventative antibiotics to help prevent against infection.

The chart below shows the percentage of UMMC patients who discontinued prophylactic antibiotic treatment within 24 hours following surgery as compared to the national average.
