Neurology Residency

Fellowship Training in Neurology

The Department of Neurology encourages fellowship training for its residents to develop specialized clinical expertise or basic neuroscience research experience.

Current clinical fellowships are available in:

  1. Neuromuscular and Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship
  2. Vascular Neurology (Brain Attack Team)
  3. Epilepsy
  4. Electromyography
  5. Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis
  6. Movement Disorders

Research fellowships (Jeffrey Ivan Bennett Fellowship) are available in:

  1. Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis
  2. Epilepsy

The University of Maryland School of Medicine has an active neuroscience program and it is possible to pursue graduate work in this program or in other basic science departments. The Department of Neurology and allied clinical and basic science departments work cooperatively to support training in both clinical and basic neuroscience research.

Completion of a Neurology Residency is required for admission into the clinical fellowship program. Further information concerning the fellowships can be obtained by writing to the Chairman of the Department of Neurology.
