Medical Records Policy

The University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) retains hospital based medical records in accordance with Federal and Maryland State Laws and regulations. UMMC maintains adult medical records for seven years from the date of discharge. Obstetric and accompanying Pediatric records are maintained for 23 years.
