Welcome to the University of Maryland Medical Center's Patient Resource Center (PRC). The PRC, located on the first floor of the Weinberg Building in the University of Maryland Medical Center, is a place where patients, families and the public can get information about a variety of health topics. These computer workstations are designed to help you find the health information you're looking for on the World Wide Web.

You can also use our computers to create a free patient Web page to communicate with friends and family. UMMC is an official sponsor of CaringBridge, an Internet service developed to help patients and their families stay connected with loved ones during medical treatment. Click here to learn more.

Below are links to University of Maryland Medical Center's (UMMC) programs and services and educational resources, all of which are found on UMMC's Web site. There's also a list of other recommended resources, which include trusted government and nonprofit health organization sites but is not an all inclusive list. If you have any questions about the information you find on these Web sites, please contact a PRC staff member and/or check with your healthcare provider.

While the Patient Resource Center does not give specific medical advice, we do offer information to help you better understand your health and any health problems. Specific medical advice will not be offered, and the Patient Resource Center asks you to talk with a qualified healthcare provider for answers to your personal questions.

The Patient Resource Center also offers a variety of classes, support groups and events. For a list of classes, check our current newsletter. For more information, call the Patient Resource Center at 410-328-WELL (9355).
