Interhospital Transfer (Adult and Pediatric)

Physicians have immediate access to emergent consultation or interhospital critical care transport for adult and pediatric patients. Maryland ExpressCare handles all necessary patient transfer arrangements, including admission paperwork, staff preparation, transportation arrangements and bed reservation.

The transport teams are staffed by experts in critical care transport, transport nurse specialists, critical care transport paramedics and emergency vehicle operators.

Interhospital Transfer (Neonatal)

Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program

Provides free, 24-hour transport by ambulance or air from community hospitals. Neonatologists from University of Maryland Medicine and Johns Hopkins Hospital quickly respond to physicians' inquiries and arrange appropriate transportation to the referral center on-call.
