Safe Kids Baltimore is a non-profit organization that is solely dedicated to the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries – which are the leading cause of death for children between the ages of 1 and 14. Since most common childhood injuries are preventable, we don’t call them “accidents.” We call them “unintentional injuries.”
Safe Kids Baltimore promotes safety awareness with an array of activities throughout the year, including monthly child safety seat checks, a school-based fire prevention program called “Inspector Detector,” special activities for Safe Kids Week each year in May, and assorted other programs.
Safe Kids Baltimore is based at the University of Maryland Hospital for Children and is a member of Safe Kids Worldwide, a global network of organizations dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries.
