Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Student Rotations at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center

Nurse Practitioners from around the country are drawn to the Shock Trauma center for clinical rotations due to its unique position as the only free-standing trauma hospital in the world. The center sees more trauma patients than any other hospital in the United States, admitting approximately 7,000 injured patients yearly.

Clinical rotations are available with:

Nurse Practitioner student rotations should be made in conjunction with a Nurse Practitioner training program. Contact the Clinical Program Manager to further explore training opportunities.

Current Nurse Practitioners who wish to further their training through a rotation at Shock Trauma should directly contact the Clinical Program Manager.

Licensure Requirements:

Nurses with licensure in one of the compact states may rotate through the program without any further licensure application.

Nurses from outside the compact states need to apply for a Maryland nursing license and obtain a temporary nursing license pending its approval.
