Why Choose University of Maryland

Outside view of our three-compartment hyperbaric chamber.

We are the only hospital in Maryland with a "multi-place" hyperbaric chamber spacious enough to treat several people at the same time. Why is this an advantage to you? Because of our chamber's unique design, you will rest comfortably in the chamber, accompanied during each treatment with a specially trained nurse who will directly supervise your care and do whatever is needed to make your treatment a positive experience.

Our experienced nursing staff has special expertise in hyperbaric as well as critical care medicine. They work closely with our full-time medical staff who supervise the medical care of all patients during the course of their hyperbaric treatments. In addition to the clinical practice of hyperbaric medicine, our doctors are actively involved in hyperbaric research, attempting to expand the frontiers of this fascinating field.

We pride ourselves on our team approach to quality patient care. At the University of Maryland's Hyperbaric Medicine Department we like to say, "We care for the sickest, with compassion for all."
