Resident Medical Student Trauma Team Clinical Rotation Program

Educational Goals:
The primary goals of the rotation are to provide the student with:
- Basic knowledge that is needed for the resuscitation, diagnosis, and treatment of trauma patients.
- Instruction in the basic clinical skills needed to treat trauma patients, and
- An understanding of the continuum of care involved in the treatment of trauma patients: from the scene of injury through discharge to home or to a rehabilitation facility.
A secondary goal is provide a fundamental understanding of Maryland's statewide system of trauma and other emergency care.
Primary and secondary educational goals are accomplished through clinical activities
and a comprehensive academic program.
