Resident Medical Student Trauma Team Clinical Rotation Program

Director: Amy C. Sisley, MD, MPH, FACS

Educational Goals:

The primary goals of the rotation are to provide the student with:

  1. Basic knowledge that is needed for the resuscitation, diagnosis, and treatment of trauma patients.
  2. Instruction in the basic clinical skills needed to treat trauma patients, and
  3. An understanding of the continuum of care involved in the treatment of trauma patients: from the scene of injury through discharge to home or to a rehabilitation facility.

A secondary goal is provide a fundamental understanding of Maryland's statewide system of trauma and other emergency care.

Primary and secondary educational goals are accomplished through clinical activities and a comprehensive academic program.
