As the Shock Trauma Center's primary point of contact for the EMS community, we inform the community regarding education, information and consultation services provided by Shock Trauma specifically for the prehospital providers. In addition, the EMS Coordinators inform the EMS community about the resources and clinical services available to the critically injured patient.
Brenda Fosler Johnson, M.B.A., M.S., EMT-B

Brenda Fosler Johnson is Director of Administration for the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Brenda joined the STC team in 1996. She came to Shock Trauma as an EMS Coordinator and later served as Director of EMS & External Relations before assuming the Director of Administration position.
Brenda has a BA degree in Health Science & Policy from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). In 1995, she became an EMT and earned her master's degree in Emergency Health Services Administration from UMBC in 1998.
She manages Center strategy and policy formulation and implementation. She directs and coordinates the Center activities and supervises personnel responsible for specified functions. In addition, Brenda directs the department of the EMS Coordinator Office.

Jim joined the Shock Trauma Team in October of 2001.
Jim has a BS degree in Emergency Health Services from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). He started in EMS as a volunteer firefighter and EMT in 1985 and has been a paramedic for the last 14 years. In addition to his volunteer service, Jim has worked as a career paramedic in South Carolina as well as Texas before returning to Maryland to join the STC team.
One of Jim's primary roles is to develop educational opportunities for the EMS community. You may see Jim at regional EMS conferences, assisting in local drill planning, visiting your jurisdiction or teaching throughout the state. In addition he is responsible for STC drill planning and emergency preparedness.
Jaime Huggins, B.S., EMT-B

Jaime joined the EMS Office Team in July of 2006. She came to Shock Trauma as a volunteer in the TRU in 2001, and later returned as a student intern before becoming the EMS Coordinator. She has been in EMS as a volunteer EMT since 1998. Jaime has a BS degree in Emergency Health Services- Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).
As the dedicated liaison for the EMS community, her role is to provide patient feedback, arrange tours, schedule observations, and coordinate educational opportunities. She also assists in the planning, organizing and coordination of the hero award ceremony for the annual Shock Trauma Gala.
