Thank you for your interest in the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Maryland. The University of Maryland Sports Medicine Fellowship is an accredited postgraduate sports medicine fellowship. One position is available to board certified/eligible applicants in family medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine or PM & R.
This fellowship program was started in 1997. It was granted full accreditation by the Residency Review Committee for Family Practice of the ACGME in 1998. Physicians completing this fellowship are eligible to sit for the Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine examination.

The fellowship is centered on office, training room, sideline and operating room evaluation and management of athletic injuries. Laboratory facilities are utilized at the downtown University of Maryland campus and Union Memorial Hospital.
