Regardless, if you are training for spring or fall sports or need assistance in refining your gymnastic routine, Kernan Physical Therapy introduces their sports acceleration program. This is ideal for athletes of all ages interested in enhancing their performance in their respected field of athletics. We offer individualized training sessions or group programs to target your goals, including strength, speed, agility and endurance. At your disposal, there are medical professionals that consult, evaluate and administer the necessary resources to meet your needs.
Upon entrance to this program, an evaluation will be performed by a licensed physical therapist to detect and prevent any orthopedic underlying issues. Your fitness ability will be assessed in a fitness evaluation and used to customize your workout.
The use of free weights, resistance equipment, ladder drills, sports- specific agility maneuvers and coordination enhancement exercises are implemented under the motivational support of the staff.
The fee for membership in the Sports Acceleration Program is an initial evaluation cost of $75 completed by a physical therapist and Wellness Coordinator. We operate with a non-contractual $50 per month for every month enrolled.
VO2 is the rate of oxygen uptake, or consumption, measured during exercise. The maximum rate of oxygen uptake is called the VO2max, and is the ultimate measure of fitness. A VO2 test will show individuals anaerobic and aerobic thresholds. The anaerobic threshold is the level of exercise intensity beyond which the body can no longer provide adequate oxygen to the muscles, and lactic acid builds faster than it can be removed from the muscles. Exercise above the anaerobic threshold will improve cardiovascular fitness, but will also cause discomfort, fatigue, and muscle soreness. Aerobic threshold exercise should be comfortable even though the exercise extends for long durations when oxygen can be utilized maximally, and fat is the body's main source of fuel. Knowing your unique anaerobic and aerobic thresholds can be used to design a workout plan that will improve fitness and maximize calories burned.
Fees for VO2 max are $125.00 for the first test and $75.00 for every additional test thereafter. Well-Life program members will have a discounted rate of $100.00 for the first test, and $50.00 for every additional test thereafter.
Everyone's RMR is different, knowing yours can aid you in losing weight and keeping it off. This is not a gimmick diet; this is scientifically the rate in which your body burns the fuel in which it is given. RMR differs from one person to another due to many variables: enviroment, age, muscle mass, and dieting to name a few. Your RMR accounts for the calories burned at complete rest to facilitate keeping us alive. In American culture crash dieting accounts for majority of ones weight "Yo-Yo-ing". If you are informed of your Resting Metabolic Rate you can be aware of the amount of calories you must take in without sacrificing lean body weight. Armed with this information, and information on how to keep your RMR as high as possible will assist you in obtaining that goal body weight, and staying there in the healthiest manner.
Fees for RMR testing are $125.00 for the first test and $75.00 for every additional test thereafter. Well-Life program members will have a discounted rate of $100.00 for the first test, and $50.00 for every additional test thereafter.
