Our specialists are uniquely qualified to treat acute and overuse injuries that occur in athletes and active people, as well as medical conditions unique to strenuous exercise and sports. We treat activity-related problems from head to toe, with special emphasis on the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, foot, ankle and spine.
We believe in early and thorough rehabilitation for all athletes. If a patient requires surgery, we opt for minimally invasive techniques whenever possible.
Surgical care is provided at Kernan Hospital, a national leader in orthopaedics and rehabilitation. Specialty consultation can be accessed by using the resources of University of Maryland Medicine, which includes the affiliated community hospitals of the University of Maryland Medical System and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
We use state-of-the-art exercise equipment and other physical therapy techniques to prevent re-injury and provide ongoing strengthening and conditioning. We specialize in the evaluation and treatment of sports and fitness-related medical problems, including: sports-related concussions, exercise-induced asthma, sports nutrition and performance enhancement issues. We also perform pre-participation sports physicals for school age, collegiate and recreational athletes and have on-site X-ray services.
