From the South:

From I-295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway), exit onto I-695 to I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395). DO NOT TAKE EXIT 52, THE RUSSELL STREET EXIT. Take I-395, Martin Luther King Boulevard, to Baltimore Street. Turn right on Baltimore Street to Greene Street.

If you are coming from I-95 North, take Exit 53 (I-395). DO NOT TAKE EXIT 52, THE RUSSELL STREET EXIT. Take I-395, Martin Luther King Boulevard, to Baltimore Street. Turn right on Baltimore Street to Greene Street. Patients and Transporters Only: Turn right onto Greene Street. Turn left onto Redwood Street, and enter the underground University Plaza Garage on your left. All Other Visitors: Stay on Baltimore Street past Greene Street, and continue one more block to Paca Street. Turn left on Paca and turn right into the Baltimore Grand Garage.

From Washington, D.C., or BWI Airport: From I-295 (Baltimore-Washington Parkway), exit onto I-695 to I-95 North to Exit 53 (I-395). DO NOT TAKE EXIT 52, THE RUSSELL STREET EXIT. Take I-395, Martin Luther King Boulevard, to Baltimore Street. Turn right on Baltimore Street to Greene Street.

From the North:

Follow I-95 to Exit 53 (395 North). Bear to your right as you exit, following the signs for M.L. King Jr. Boulevard and Russell Street. Follow the signs for Russell St. and turn right onto Russell Street as you pass Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Continue on Russell as it merges into Paca Street. Go two blocks on Paca. Patients and Transporters only: Turn left onto Redwood Street, and enter the underground University Plaza Garage on your right. All other visitors: Continue one more block on Paca. Just past Baltimore Street, turn right into the Baltimore Grand Garage.

From I-83:

Follow I-83 South (Jones Falls Expressway) to the end. Go two traffic lights and turn right onto Lombard Street. Follow Lombard for 12 traffic lights and turn right onto Paca Street. Patients and Transporters only: Turn left at the next light onto Redwood Street. Enter the underground University Plaza Garage on your right. All other visitors: Continue one more block on Paca. Just past Baltimore Street, turn right into the Baltimore Grand Garage.

From the West:

Take I-70 east to I-695 South (Glen Burnie). Follow I-695 to 95 North to Exit 53 (I-395). DO NOT TAKE EXIT 52, THE RUSSELL STREET EXIT. Take I-395, Martin Luther King Boulevard, to Baltimore Street. Turn right on Baltimore Street to Greene Street. Patients and Transporters only: Turn right onto Greene Street. Turn left onto Redwood Street, and enter the underground University Plaza Garage on your left. All other visitors: Stay on Baltimore Street past Greene Street, and continue one more block to Paca Street. Turn left on Paca and turn right into the Baltimore Grand Garage.

When Leaving the Hospital:

To go south on the Baltimore Washington Parkway: Take Martin Luther King Boulevard to I-95 South to I-695 to I-295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway).

To go north or south on I-95: Take Martin Luther King Boulevard to the sky ramp to I-395 to I-95.

Mass Transit:

Bus MTA buses 1, 2, 7, 8, 11, 20, 35 and 36 stop at the Medical Center.
MTA buses 3, 15, 23, 28, 31 and 91 stop in the Medical Center area.
Subway Lexington Market Station, Eutaw and Lexington Streets (4 blocks)
Charles Center Station, Baltimore at Charles Street (5 blocks)
Light Rail The Central Light Rail Line stops at the UniversityCenter/Baltimore Street Station three blocks from the Medical Center.

Parking Locations

Safe, convenient patient parking is available at several locations near the University of Maryland Medical Center:

  1. Medical Center Garage, Greene and Paca Streets
  2. The underground University Plaza Garage on W. Redwood Street, just opposite University of Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland Professional Building is reserved for patient parking. Be sure to take your parking ticket with you for validation. Many University Physicians practices offer free or discounted parking. Check with the staff at the office you visit for more information.

    Other Parking options include:
  3. Valet Parking, available at the main hospital entrance for a fee
  4. Baltimore Grand Garage, Paca Street, between Baltimore and Fayette Streets
  5. Marriott Hotel Parking, Lombard and Eutaw Streets
  6. Allright Parking, W. Redwood and Eutaw Streets
  7. Allright Parking, Lombard and Eutaw Streets
  8. Redwood Garage, Eutaw and W. Redwood Streets
  9. Penn Garage, Penn and Pratt Streets

Arriving and departing patients may be dropped off and picked up in the circular drive in front of the hospital. Parking is available in front of the hospital for 20 minute drop-off and pick-up only. Free valet parking service is available at the front entrance for mothers in labor. If you need assistance getting from building to building, the Medical Center offers a shuttle service. For assistance, dial the information desk at 410-328-5473 (or 8-5473 from any in-house phone).

Please note: Please make sure you take your ticket with you from the surface lot into the hospital to get discounted. These rates are exclusive to patients and their transporters. Patients or their transporters may get their parking tickets discounted from a Guest Services representative located at the Gudelsky Lobby desk in the Medical Center. The standard Medical Center Garage charge of $25.00 will be applied to all other parkers who do not provide a discounted voucher upon exit.

This garage also has parking available on underground levels only to patients and visitors/families of patients who are here long-term. Parking is accessible from both Paca and Greene Streets. The following rates apply:

Biweekly - $37.50
Monthly - $75.00

To obtain a parking pass, the visitor, patient or family member can fill out an application and bring it to the UMMC Parking and Transportation Office located in room G1J42, two doors down from the HR Service Center and Great Cookie. The underground University Plaza Garage on W. Redwood Street, just opposite University of Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland Professional Building, the Baltimore Grand Garage, situated on Paca Street between Baltimore and Fayette Streets, and the Medical Center Garage on Greene Street are reserved for patient parking. Listed below are the parking locations and rates charged to patients, patient transporters and visitors who visit the medical center:

Please note: These rates are exclusive to patients and their transporters. These rates are only applicable when a patient-parking discount voucher is presented to the cashier upon exiting the Plaza Garage. Patients or their transporters may obtain discount vouchers from the Department of Guest Services which is located at the front desk in the main lobby of the Medical Center. The standard Plaza Garage charge of $25.00 will be applied to parkers entering prior to 2 p.m. who do not present a discount voucher at the time of exit.

After 2 p.m., individuals other than patients and their transporters may begin parking in the Plaza Garage and will be charged according to the rates listed for the Baltimore Grand Garage (see below).

The Baltimore Grand Garage is designated for general public parking and is approximately one block away from the Medical Center. Visitors who do not have a doctor’s appointment or who are not transporting patients are advised to park at the Baltimore Grand Garage.

Parking During Stadium Events

Access to W. Redwood Street and the University Plaza Garage will remain reserved for patient and patient visitor parking during events at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Stadium traffic should be considered when traveling to the Medical Center after 5 p.m. or on weekends.
