• Recently, the indication for solitary PaTxs has been questioned:

  • Harlan et al. reported a higher mortality rate posttx vs. for patients on the waiting list (ADA2003)
  • Sollinger et al. reported better outcome with living donor KTA (vs. SPK) and SPK (vs. PAK) (ATC 2003)

• The question then is whether or not to do (more) solitary PaTxs.
