"I'm approaching my fifth year after having done a kidney transplant at UMMC. My brother donated a kidney not long after I was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. The care and attentiveness at UMMC was such a wonderful experience, far from all the fears I've had in the past about any and all hospitals. They were very informative about all aspects of the transplant before, during, and after the procedure. I was also impressed that they worked closely with Johns Hopkins nearby using the latest techniques and medications available. I now live up in the Boston area but I return there twice annually to continue my clinical visits and get a chance to visit the doctors, nurses, and staff that treated me so well."
