The Urology Division offers thorough and state-of-the-art evaluation and management of all urologic problems.

As a tertiary care center based practice, the urology division is known for its cutting-edge research and teaching.

The scope of the patients seen at University of Maryland runs the gamut of urologic diseases. The clinical faculty has particular expertise in:

The research prowess of the Division of Urology continues to grow. Currently, there are two laboratories within the Division performing cutting-edge research on pertinent urologic problems including prostate cancer, urologic immunology, and bladder urothelial physiology. These laboratories focus on translational research to bring potential solutions to problems facing the clinical urologists.

Additionally, the faculty are engaged in multiple extramurally funded clinical trials which bring science into the clinical arena. The Division trains two urologists per year. Against the backdrop of patient care and research, all graduating residents are superbly trained and able to pursue careers in either academic or private practice urology. Although our reputation is one of academic excellence, we never forget to put the patient first.
