Pulmonary thromboendarterectomy, or PTE, is a delicate and complex 8-hour surgery that can cure chronic pulmonary hypertension. The University of Maryland Medical Center is one of the few hospitals in the country performing this procedure. In this video, Dr. Bartley Griffith, the University of Maryland Medical Center's chief of Cardiac Surgery and an internationally known heart surgeon, discusses the PTE procedure in detail.
