Day or night, 24-hours a day, seven-days a week you have immediate access to an attending perinatologist, a specialist in the care and support of your unborn child, who can quickly respond to concerns about your pregnancy. The Maryland Maternity ExpressCare offers patients both physician consultation services and transport services.
If you need to be transferred to the University of Maryland Medical System, a team specially trained in perinatal transport will be dispatched immediately with state-of-the-art equipment on board. You will be monitored continuously and physicians will work to stabilize your condition as you make your way to the hospital. Within 24 hours, your obstetrician or referring physician will be notified and within 48 hours they will receive a complete summary of your condition or treatment.
