UMMC offers minimally invasive gynecology.
New parents credit midwives for making natural birth experience "a pure joy."
Our talented team of obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives and nurse practitioners are committed to guiding you through every stage of pregnancy and assisting you with issues related to your reproductive health through its Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
We are committed to making your delivery as stress-free as possible. The healthy mother-to-be and baby receive prenatal care and delivery in our comfortable, attractive birthing rooms that are staffed by obstetric anesthesiologists 24 hours a day. You can give birth in a private labor/postpartum suite, a home-like atmosphere, where you stay from the time your labor begins until you and your new baby are ready to leave the hospital.
We also provide assistance for a range of other gynecologic problems facing women. The Urogynecology (urinary incontinence) Program features complete diagnostic evaluation with the most advanced technologies and offers a variety of treatments ranging from exercise and diet to surgery.
Through our Midwifery Program, you can receive routine gynecologic care from adolescence through menopause from specially trained midwives, who have extensive teaching experience and practical expertise.
We emphasize wellness and healthy lifestyles in a caring and attentive atmosphere during annual well-woman evaluations. We believe screening, early detection and treatment and education provides a solid foundation on which you can reach and maintain personal health care goals. In addition, our physicians and nurse providers manage routine gynecologic disorders and work collaboratively with other specialty areas in resolving or managing health problems. From adolescence and young adulthood through the more mature years, we are your resource for women's health needs throughout your lifetime.
