May Blanchard, M.D.
Dr. Blanchard is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive
sciences and is director of General Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University
of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her medical degree and served her
residency at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland,
Ohio. Dr. Blanchard became board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics
and Gynecology in January 2003.
Penny Brown, M.D.,
FACOG
Dr. Brown is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive
sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her
medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She served
her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts
General Hospital of Harvard University. She interned in obstetrics and gynecology
at Magee Women's Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh. From 1995 to 1998,
she was a junior clinical teaching fellow at Harvard Medical School. Most recently,
she served as an associate at Wellesley Women's Care in general obstetrics and
gynecology at Newton Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts.
Michelle
C. Fox, M.D.
Dr. Fox is an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive
sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She joined the faculty
as a general obstetrician-gynecologist in July 2003. Dr. Fox is also director
of Family Planning here at the University of Maryland. Dr. Fox attended Johns
Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed her residency
at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. After residency, she completed
fellowship training in Family Planning and Contraceptive Research at Magee-Womens
Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fox is a member of the American College
of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist.
She has also obtained a Masters of Public Health focusing in women's health
research and has participated in several research trials and published papers
involving advances in contraception, miscarriage and family planning. Her interests
include general gynecology, contraception, and sterilization.
Andrea Kwong, M.D.
Dr. Kwong serves as an assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology
and reproductive sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Kwong joined the faculty as an instructor of obstetrics, gynecology and
reproductive sciences in July 2004. She is a Board Eligible Junior Fellow with
the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Samuel
Dodek Obstetrical Society, George Washington University School of Medicine,
Pennsylvania Medical Society, Thomas Bond Medical Society and the Pennsylvania
Hospital. Dr. Kwong received her Medical Degree from George Washington University.
Her residency training was completed at the University of Pennsylvania School
of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident in her last year. Dr. Kwong
sees patients at the University's Redwood and Penn Street sites. Her special
interests include obstetrics and gynecology, gynecologic endoscopy, high risk
obstetrics, HIV/AIDS in pregnancy and Hispanic women's health.
Shillena
Peters-Gill, M.D.
Dr. Peters-Gill is an instructor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive
sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her
medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine and served her residency at the
University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey -- Robert Wood Johnson
Medical School.
Dorothy L. Atkins,
C.R.N.P., M.S.
Dottie Atkins is a women's health nurse practitioner
in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences. She received
her bachelor of science in nursing from Old Dominion University and her master
of science in primary care women's health and nursing health policy from University
of Maryland at Baltimore. She is a member of the American Nurses Association.
She is a frequent lecturer on women's health topics such as osteoporosis, and
has been recognized for educational Web sites developed for the Women?s Health
Nurse Practitioner Program at University
of Maryland School of Nursing. She has participated in research studies on irritable
bowel disease and pregnancy and fetal heart rate interpretation.
