
Sarah Temkin, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences
Dr. Temkin is a specialist in gynecologic oncology who joins the University of Maryland after three years at the University of Chicago. Her clinical interests include gynecologic malignancies and complex gynecologic surgery.
After earning her medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School, Dr. Temkin continued her training with an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at SUNY, Downstate.
Board certified in OB/GYN with additional board certification in the sub-specialty of gynecologic oncology, Dr. Temkin is a skilled addition to the team at University of Maryland Women's Health and the UM Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center. She is an expert in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. In fact, she was the first gynecologic oncologist in Illinois to operate with the da Vinci robotic system, in an advanced procedure to treat endometrial cancer. She also has experience in novel applications of chemotherapy to treat ovarian, endometrial and cervical cancers.
