Tipos de músculos

Los músculos realizan cuatro funciones corporales importantes: mantener la postura, estabilizar las articulaciones, brindar movilidad y generar el calor que el cuerpo necesita.

El cuerpo contiene tres tipos de músculos para realizar estas funciones:

  • Músculo liso - músculo involuntario ubicado en las paredes de los órganos corporales; funciona sin control consciente
  • Músculo cardiaco - músculo involuntario hallado únicamente en las paredes del corazón; funciona sin control consciente
  • Músculo esquelético - se adhiere y cubre el esqueleto para brindar movimiento al cuerpo; es el único músculo bajo control voluntario o consciente
