UMGCCC Research Day

The first annual UMGCCC Research Day and UM Cancer Network retreat was held on September 19, 2017. The event showcased the scope and breadth of UMGCCC’s clinical, basic science and translational research enterprise among the many members of the Program in Oncology. The day also fostered networking among UMGCCC members with an eye toward building collaborations, sharing information, publicizing the UMGCCC CRO and Shared Services, creating momentum for P01, SPORE and other large applications, laying the groundwork for the next P30 renewal, highlighting the investment of the Cigarette Restitution Fund, and strengthening the relationships within the University of Maryland cancer network.

Several areas of research were featured through presentations by trainees, established labs and developing programs. The UM Cancer Network — which includes our affiliate hospitals and their research staffs — was also a highlight of the day. Our goal is to continue to grow and expand UMGCCC’s network activities throughout the University of Maryland Medical System hospitals.
