A little about myself. . .
I'm a life-long Marylander: I was born in Annapolis, MD and grew up on the Eastern Shore. I majored in Biology and Biochemistry at McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) in Westminster, MD about an hour outside of Baltimore. I knew I wanted to work with children with neurological disorders, and did research in Child Neurology at Johns Hopkins University for several years before going back to medical school. During that time, I met and married my husband and we adopted our puppy, Kona. I also earned a Master's from Johns Hopkins in Biotechnology. I decided to go to medical school and was so happy to attend and thoroughly enjoyed my time at UMSOM, where I realized how much I enjoy working with children and their families. After a completing my training at Maryland, I'll train at Johns Hopkins in Child Neurology. After all that, I am the first medical doctor in my family.
Outside of work and research, I love being active! I've played lacrosse for 20+ years, and so has my husband! I also play football and love to go hiking and explore local wineries and restaurants. I love traveling, and someday, my husband and I hope to explore Italy, Australia, and Hawaii. Yet, some of the best times are simply spending time with dear friends and family, including the furry ones!
